What Are Fragments?
During the Age of Echoes, the gods fought. Not metaphorically — they tore at each other across the fabric of the world, and pieces of their power broke loose.
These pieces are called Fragments. They settled into the world the way stones settle into a riverbed: seemingly permanent, actually loose, available to anyone strong enough to reach down and pick them up.
How They Work
A Fragment is seized through an act of will — usually in a moment of extremity. The Fragment doesn’t choose you. You choose it, often without fully understanding what you’re choosing.
Once bonded, a Fragment grants power. It also begins, gradually and without announcement, to change you.
The Cost
No Fragment is neutral. Each one carries the imprint of the god it came from, and prolonged use aligns the bearer — their instincts, their impulses, sometimes their appearance — toward that god’s domain.
Followers of Drekmorae’s Fragments begin to hunt. Those carrying Kethara’s start to build, and build, and build, until they can’t stop.
